Why refer to Launchpad?
Launchpad is a free, 10-session employability and personal development programme for people aged 16 and over in the Scottish Borders. It's designed for people who aren't quite ready for mainstream employment support — those who need to rebuild confidence, explore their strengths, and take small, supported steps forward.
We work alongside your support, not instead of it. Launchpad is a complementary intervention — a safe, friendly group space where participants can grow at their own pace.
Who we support
Launchpad is well-suited for people who are:
- Aged 16 or over and living in the Scottish Borders
- Not yet ready for mainstream employment programmes
- Dealing with low confidence or self-esteem
- Experiencing social isolation or limited support networks
- Managing health challenges, including mental health
- Long-term unemployed or economically inactive
- Looking for a gentle, non-pressured starting point

We make contact
Our team will reach out to the individual for an informal, no-pressure conversation to find out a bit about them and explain how the programme works.
Agreed next steps
Together with the individual, we'll agree whether Launchpad is the right fit and when they'd like to start. There's no obligation — it's always their choice.
We keep you informed
With the individual's consent, we'll let you know how they're getting on. We're happy to liaise with your team throughout.

Launchpad is delivered by Recovery Coaching Scotland — a lived experience organisation rooted in the belief that people with lived experience of adversity are uniquely placed to support others. We are also a proud member of the Borders Local Employability Partnership, working alongside partner organisations to ensure people across the Scottish Borders get the right support at the right time.
